Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how PTXR Labs, LLC (“PTXR Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Rory mobile application (“App”) and related services (together, the “Services”).
By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Rory, we may collect the categories below.
Account and profile information. If you create or maintain an account, we may collect identifiers such as your email address, user ID, and authentication credentials.
Screen time and limit configuration. Rory is designed to work with Apple Screen Time. We may process information about the limits you configure in the App (for example, per-app, website, or category limits) and related usage signals needed to enforce those limits and show you in-App history.
Voice pleas and transcripts. When you record a voice plea, we may collect audio recordings and machine-generated transcripts of what you say. These are used to generate verdicts, show you plea history, and operate optional features such as a community gallery, as described in your in-App settings and this Policy.
AI verdict outputs. We may store the verdict (for example, approved or denied), associated reasoning text, and metadata such as timestamps.
Community features. If you submit content to a community verdict gallery or similar feature, we may collect the content you choose to share, display name or handle (if applicable), and interaction metadata needed to operate that feature.
Device and diagnostic data. We may collect device identifiers, IP address, app version, crash logs, and performance diagnostics to secure and improve the Services.
Support communications. If you contact us, we collect the information you provide (for example, your email address and message contents).
2. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including voice transcription, AI-powered verdicts, and plea history;
- Authenticate users, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect security;
- Communicate with you about the Services, updates, and support;
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service;
- Conduct analytics in aggregated or de-identified form where permitted.
3. Legal bases (where applicable)
If applicable law (such as the GDPR) requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract with you; legitimate interests that are not overridden by your rights (for example, securing the Services and improving reliability); your consent where we ask for it; and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist us with hosting, analytics, customer support, security, transcription, and AI inference, subject to contractual obligations;
- Apple and other platform providers as needed to distribute the App and integrate with Screen Time, consistent with Apple’s terms and your device settings;
- Professional advisors (such as lawyers and accountants) where necessary;
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
We do not sell your personal information as “sale” is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under California law.
5. Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary based on the type of data and your settings (for example, whether you delete plea history or your account).
6. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You can exercise many choices inside the App (for example, managing limits, plea history, or community submissions). You may also contact us using the details below. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe we have collected information from a child in error, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. International transfers
We may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
10. Third-party services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or rely on third-party SDKs. Their collection and use of information is governed by their own policies. Apple’s handling of Screen Time data is subject to Apple’s privacy disclosures and your device settings.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App or on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice.
